Death’s Apprentice isn’t your average estate planning service. We’re here to plan for life.

You’re a parent. Or you have parents. Maybe you’re an employee. Or the world’s best boss. No matter who you are, what you’re up to, and where you’re at in life, you know you need to put your affairs in order. Before you need to. Before it’s too late. Yes, it’s scary to think about, but not as scary as thinking about the mess you’ll leave behind if you don’t. So take a class. Book a 1-1. Host a lunch-and-learn for your employees.

You’ll provide clarity for the people who might have to speak on your behalf one day. You’ll connect with what matters. And you’ll find a perfect sense of calm knowing that you’ll be ready for anything life can throw at you.

Checklists are important.

But you need more than a checklist. More than a set of legal documents. Remember: if you need to use the paperwork, something pretty bad has probably happened.

Don’t just name someone to speak on your behalf.

Make sure they know what to say.

Here’s how Death’s Apprentice can help:

Tell us who you are, where you’re at, and what you’re up to in life.

I want to learn with others live, online planning programs.

Join Prep School for structure & creative learning

I want to support my employees through Corporate Wellness Workshops

I want to introduce my team/group to these important topics.

Most people aren’t ready to deal with sudden health changes — something that could happen at any time to any of us. And hardly anyone is prepared for death — something that will happen, at some time, to all of us.

Our programs can help you be ready.

Ready for anything.

Meet Christa

My name is Christa Ovenell. I’m a funeral director, end-of-life doula, death educator and cold plunger (the swim-coat proves it!)

I founded Death’s Apprentice Education & Planning with a vision of disrupting the death-care industry and a mission to make people comfortable thinking about death as nothing other than a part of life. A part of life that isn’t actually a mystery. A part of life that can—and should—be planned for.

I’ve seen too often how being unprepared for life’s only certainty causes chaos and compounds grief.

I’ve worked with over 250 clients in the past year. Pretty much the only thing these folks have in common is their mortality. Well, that and the fact that each and every one of them felt overwhelmed, uncertain, and sure they needed something…but not sure what.

When we’re done though, the mortals I serve are clear in their wishes. Connected to what matters most. And calm in the knowledge that they will never, ever leave a mess behind.

What is your biggest struggle right now?

I hate the thought of leaving a mess behind/my parents (or my kids!) won’t talk about this stuff!

You need:

I love a good checklist and a structured approach. I’m prepared to commit to a weekly schedule, because I am ready to get this work FINISHED!

I want to support my team/need a speaker to spark meaningful conversations.

I’m a small biz owner or lead a team and I think this work is so important, everyone needs to do it. I’m ready to embed this into our culture.

I’m running an event and would love to have you speak to my group.
