Do you feel called to this work?

Then we need to get to know each other…

Would you say you’re “doula-curious”?

If so, I’d love you to join me for What Does a Doula DO?

This free, one-hour webinar will answer all your questions about this meaningful (and often misunderstood) work.

  • There’s some live sessions to choose from coming up: Feb 12, 17 & 21 If none of those times work, you can select recording only!

You’ve probably noticed an explosion of “death doula” training programs, many making big promises about certification or quick career paths.

I know a fair bit about that world because I used to be the Principal of Canada’s largest international college. Today though, I’m a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and end-of-life doula.

My background has led me to take a different attitude to doula education. While this work is deeply meaningful, it’s not a fast track to a full-time income, and you need to come into this world knowing that. I believe in a “Don’t Quit Your Day Job” approach.

This webinar is not a sales pitch, I assure you of that. It’s an introduction to an ancient practice that is recently emerging into a profession. If you’re curious about what doulas actually do, and how this work can fit into your life, community, or existing profession, I know you’ll get a lot out of it.

Full disclosure: I’ll briefly introduce The Doula Apprentice Education Program, but our focus will be on understanding this emerging field itself.

Whether you’re exploring what it means to “become” a death doula, or preparing to support someone through illness, loss, or end-of-life, this session will give you a clear and honest introduction to who doulas are and what we do.

This webinar will cover the 5 Ws (and the ever-important H):

Who doulas serve (the answer may surprise you)
What doulas actually do (and don’t) do
Where to find doula communities
When this “profession” began (and where it’s headed)
Why this work matters
How to integrate a death-caring practice into the realities of YOUR life

You’ll learn real, relevant, and practical first steps to take into deathcare education. It’s open to anyone with questions. Come curious, and I promise you’ll leave with new insights.
